Very clean overall with just some dents in the finish and very light wear. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Fender / Musicmaster / 1959 / Dessert Sand / Guitar. (31.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. 1959 Fender Musicmaster Desert Sand Super clean 1959 Fender Musicmaster in Dessert Sand finish, on of the last examples with maple fretboard and gold anodized pickguard. The original anodized metal pickguard still looks amazingly sharp! This lovely little guitar has not been stripped of its more valuable parts (knobs, neckplate, pots, and wiring) as so many have! A neat package includes original tan case, making for a very cool and relatively affordable 1950s Fender guitar. The neat, comfortable little neck has the classic Fender round-backed profile, a feature recently re-introduced at that time after a dalliance with V-profines in 1957-8. This particular guitar dates to 1959 with a neck dated to March that year. The Musicmaster features a narrow, short-scale maple neck and a single pickup with volume and tone controls. This Musicmaster is in amazing condition It is nearly as clean as some new guitars you see hanging in some music stores. Built primarily to expand the company's hold on the teaching studio/young student market, these guitars were many players' first electric, far more playable than most competitors and stylish in an understated way.
